Arkansas House Agriculture Committee Reauthorizes Arkansas Rice Certification Act

“The regulatory structure established by the Rice Certification Act has served the industry well, and the Arkansas Plant Board has used its authority appropriately to deal with a number of issues,” said Arkansas rice farmer and former Plant Board member Ray Vester. “Our industry suffered quite a blow with the premature release of Liberty Link into the system, but we have worked hard to restore our markets. This law helped us get there.”
“We appreciate Rep. Jerry Brown’s hard work on this issue,” Arkansas Rice Federation spokesman Ben Noble said. “As a rice farmer, Rep. Brown knows firsthand how well the Rice Certification Act has served the industry.”
The bill now moves to the Arkansas House of Representatives for further consideration.
